SHEilds (ME) Ltd, Safety, Health and Environmental training and Food Hygiene consultancy, are pleased to announce that their team, based at Knowledge Village, Dubai, have been joined by Mr David Bristow CMIOSH. David, who has 15 years experience in the safety sector, is to deliver a range of safety courses and support SHEilds NVQ Oxford and Cambridge Registered (OCR) candidates.

SHEilds are now offering their eLearning NEBOSH accredited certificates with a mixture of six workshop days and blending classroom based learning with distance learning.

David will be joined in August by Mr Deepak Nair from India who will assist both in the classroom and supporting the SHEilds web based learning forums.

Mike Watson SHEilds Chairman explained that “we are making the changes in line with our UK operations. The workshops are running over the UAE weekend and we expect a good take up of the offer”.

Mike Watson & Mike Shields shake hands with Mr Haridas Nair over a great deal in India

SHEilds is pleased to announce our new business partner in India. Mr Haridas Nair, Managing Director of DISS Doha Qatar is formally opening his latest business venture in New Delhi India to be named “Haris Institute of Safety Technology" or HIST.

The partnership with SHEilds and HIST in India comes after many years of working on business ventures in Qatar. Mike Shields and Mike Watson the owners of SHEilds are delighted with the agreement. Mike Shields stated “We are pleased with the agreement, having a local businessman and safety specialist on the ground in India will provide our clients and students with a more cohesive service” Mike Watson agreed and added that “the three of us have been friends and business partners for some time, it made perfect business sense to approach Hari with this venture”.

HIST HIST is now SHEilds Main Business Associate in India and will act on our behalf in all matters. The agreement was signed at a meeting in London between:

Mike Watson, Patrick Frayne and Haridas Nair at the Regents Park Marriot Hotel. Mike Shields was unable to travel to the meeting due to the birth of his baby daughter Trinity, but had signed the agreement in advance.

The businessmen celebrated with a ride on the London Eye, an ambition of Haris, and a light meal at Gordon Ramsey’s Mayfair based restaurant ‘Maze’.

A new venue for professional safety based training opens in Hessle and attracts candidates travelling from India and Qatar.

SHEilds Ltd, one of the United Kingdoms and United Arab Emirates leading Health, Safety and Environmental training institutes is very pleased to announce the opening of their latest training centre based in Hessle near Kingston upon Hull on Friday 23rd May 2008 at 13.00 hours.

This new training facility will be officially opened by Mr Alan Johnson MP. Directors and owners, Mike Shields, Cheryl Watson, Mike Watson and Paul Bell are very pleased that Mr Johnson agreed to open the training centre. Mike Shields stated that it is indeed an honour that the West Hull MP has shown such an interest in our venture.

central training centreCheryl Watson stated that the training centre is attracting many local health and safety professionals and recently has already seen two candidates who travelled from India to take part in a week long training programme.

The training centre is providing a much needed resource for the region in terms of providing nationally and internationally recognised accredited training and development for professionals and those who are seeking a career in safety based subjects and in many other areas of business including environmental, food and management.

The centre is also used for SHEilds accredited vocational training through Oxford & Cambridge OCR and The National Examination Board of Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) and The Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) the UKs leading awarding bodies for safety professionals., ROSPA and Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.

Mr Paul Bell explained. The centre represents the next chapter in the successful story of the SHEilds group of companies, and in addition to being the current location for the management and administration of UK and International operations is also home for a new addition to the SHEilds groups of companies, SHEilds Training and Consultancy Services Ltd (STCS).

As the title of this new enterprise suggests professional consultancy and training in this instance in the form of tutor delivered courses is the mainstay of this company.

The centre boasts two purposely designed training rooms allowing maximum convenience to all delegates to the site. Tutor delivered training is also a feature of STCS allowing the client to choose the best solution for their particular situation.

Continuous improvement and personnel development is the cornerstone ethos of this enterprise.

Patrick Frayne Mandy Pickard

Further to the announcement at the recent staff meeting at SHEilds House, Mike Shields and Mike Watson have appointed two new members to the Board of SHEilds Ltd.

Mr Patrick Frayne (left) and Mrs Mandy Pickard (right) have accepted the Directorships and the responsibilities of the appointments. Patrick explained "It is a an honour to be asked and a fantastic opportunity". Mandy agreed and stated that "while the title is an honour, it is the strategy behind the move that is of most importance".

We are sure that all staff will congratulate Mandy and Patrick on their Directorships of SHEilds Ltd.

Mike Watson and Mike Shields also announced that both were now taking the position of Chairman of SHEilds. Mike Watson is to drop his position as Managing Director take up the Chairman title in order to allow the Board to have a more balanced approach. This move is in readiness of a business venture that will see the company grow in terms of locations and operations.
