Workshop Overview

This workshop has been specifically designed to compliment your NVQ course, and allows you to meet the assessment team and provides you with an introduction to the NVQ process and how to start gathering evidence so that we can build your portfolio.

The workshop is free of charge and is designed for all NVQ candidates who are about to start, or who have just started their NVQ. Starting at 10am and working through until approximately 2pm, there is then time for one to one with assessors if required.

  • Report Writing Frameworks – An approach to structuring your reports
  • One to one time with assessment team and action planning

For the City & Guilds NVQ Level 5 in Occupational Health and Safety, completion of the 8 mandatory units is required, as is the completion of 3 optional units to gain the full qualification. The candidate must choose which 3 optional units would be best suited to their own working environment. In total 11 units are required.

The City & Guilds Level 4 NVQ in Occupational Health and Safety Practice qualification is suitable for those who are working in the area of general health and safety practice or managing the health and safety function. Students who complete this qualification can apply to IOSH for professional membership of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) at graduate membership level (GradIOSH) which leads to chartered member status (CMIOSH).

Memberships

Upon successful completion of the City & Guilds NVQ Level 4 in Occupational Health and Safety qualification may apply to the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) for membership at Graduate level membership (GradIOSH) and upon completion of an open book assessment and a minimum of 2 years Initial professional Development (IPD), candidates can achieve Chartered level membership (CMIOSH).
