What is Blended Learning:
Blended learning is a powerful training solution that combines e-learning with a classroom environment for a superior learning experience.
Why take one item from the menu when you can have the buffet?
Enter blended learning. If you know how to choose your servings wisely, you will come away from the table more satisfied, with improved results and a much higher return on your training investment. If you choose unwisely, there are consequences that may slow your progress or even stop it in its tracks.
Four stages of learning
- Stage 1: Initial knowledge and website orientation
- Stage 2: Increased knowledge via eLearning
- Stage 3: Revision workshop
- Stage 4: Examination
Blended learning represents an effective and proven learning model. It capitalizes on the strengths and benefits of technology-based training as well as the classic classroom environment.

maximize their business potential through reducing lost time accidents,
ill health, legal costs and insurance costs.
We work on a consultancy basis with many
organisations including, engineering, construction, rail, chemical, and
care and retail sectors. We also support other health and safety
consultancies, acting as their health, safety, environmental and
hygiene specialists.
SHEilds have a capacity building programme that
allows businesses to build health and safety competence from within
their organisation. We work alongside managers and staff, supporting
them at all levels and when required acting as our clients named
competent specialist within pertinent legal documents.

The eLearning programme is designed to contain all the features of a standard classroom learning programme but is complemented by a series of interactive web activities, resources and assessments. The benefits of eLearning are that you can choose the time and days of the week to study, geographical location isn’t an issue, in fact we have many international candidates on our eLearning programmes, greater flexibility to further study areas, which may be unfamiliar to you and to view examples of real case studies for each subject, the full support of our tutor moderated NEBOSH support forum. Remember; although you are not in a classroom there is still plenty of interaction through our forums, group exercise and discussions, all of which enhances your success.
Inside your eLearning environment you will be provided with a course timetable advising you which topics should be studied each week. There is flexibility built into this timetable in terms of when and where you study, but it is designed to ensure you are fully prepared for the final NEBOSH examination and assessment.
Throughout your NEBOSH eLearning course you will be fully supported by our team of expert tutors, available when you need them.

The Scheme is based upon the principle that individuals will make a personal contribution toward the cost of their learning. The ELC contribution may be up to 80% of the gross course value. Applicants will also be responsible for payment for food, accommodation, course books, material, travel and subsistence. Claimants are reminded that they should not part with any money until they have received their Claim Authorisations Note.
Their website, www.enhancedlearningcredits.com contains guidance with regard to applying for Scheme Membership and subsequently claiming an ELC. However, before submitting an application or claim for an ELC please refer to your Education Staff and to Defence Council Instruction (DCI) reference 'DCI JS 30/04' The Enhanced Learning Credit Scheme - Sponsorship of Service Personnel for Personal Development. It is essential that you do this in order to obtain a full understanding of the eligibility criteria, both for yourself and any development activity.
The Enhanced Learning Credits Administration Service (ELCAS) provide the administrative support for the ELC Scheme. Education Staff are responsible for approval of both ELC Application and Claims. All completed forms should therefore be submitted to Education Staff who will send the forms to:
