Drug Driving Law – updated March 2015
The drug driving law changed on 2nd March 2015 in England and Wales. The legislation aims to make it easier for the police to catch and convict drug drivers. It is now an offence to drive with certain drugs above a specified level in the blood stream. Legal and illegal drugs are covered by the law and taking a small amount of an illegal drug could put you over the limit.
Legal Limits – Drug Driving
Anyone who drives a vehicle and are found to be above the legal limit could be convicted, which may result in a 12 month driving ban, a fine of up to £5,000 or up to six months imprisonment or both. A conviction could result in job loss and financial problems, as well as gaining a criminal record.
