A NEBOSH National Diploma is a Level 6 qualification on the NQF, a Level 10 on the SCQF and equivalent to a University Bachelors Degree. To progress further, we suggest moving on to a Level 6 NVQ or NEBOSH Environmental Diploma course.

No formal entry requirements exist to enrol on to this NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety Practice. This course is equivalent to an Honours Degree and candidates must be prepared to study at this level.
However, it will be greatly beneficial for students to have already achieved certification in the NEBOSH National General Certificate prior to undertaking this NEBOSH Diploma level course, as this greatly improves a students’ potential end-result.
The only critical requirement to enrol on this course is that the student must have an appropriate understanding of the English language in order to articulate the concepts within the course syllabus.
So long as you meet the required standard of English, you can enrol on the NEBOSH National Diploma.
There is the potential to become a Registered Membership of the Association for Project Safety (RMaPS), however this involves completing a NEBOSH Construction Certificate in addition to this Diploma.
Once you’ve completed this qualification you’ll be entitled to use the professional post nominals DipNEBOSH after your name, on business cards, letters and emails, etc.

We have examination venues around the Globe!
NEBOSH examination venues within the UK are available at a number of locations, including Hull (no exam venue fee), London, Coventry and Bolton in England; Edinburgh in Scotland and Belfast in Northern Ireland are available, attracting a small exam venue fee. Just outside of the UK we also have an exam venue in Dublin, Ireland, again with a small venue fee.
Our head offices are based in the city of Hull, England in the UK. You can visit our home city and sit your examinations without the need to pay an exam venue fee, which is a great added bonus of studying with SHEilds. There is no exam venue fee to pay in our Hull, England based exam centre.
SHEilds have a NEBOSH exam centre in the UK’s capital city – London, you can visit the country’s busiest city and enjoy the sights while you sit your exams.
With an exam centre in the city of Coventry in England, this exam centre venue is located centrally within the UK and is well situated for those who don’t want to travel very far from home.
Our NEBOSH exam centre in Bolton, England is another great venue for those in the north of England, similar to our Hull exam centre, but located closer to other large cities like Manchester, Leeds and Liverpool.
Our NEBOSH exam centre in Scotland is located in Edinburgh, a central hub for business and a fantastic city to visit, there is a small exam venue fee to pay for those wishing to sit their exam here.
For students in Northern Ireland, SHEilds have got you covered with an exam centre located in the historic city of Belfast. A small exam venue fee of £45 applies for those wishing to take their exams at this location.
Although not actually part of the UK, we have an exam centre in Dublin, Ireland. A small exam venue fee applies of £45 for those students wishing to sit their exams at this centre.
NEBOSH National Diploma examinations for the written papers Unit A, B & C happen twice a year annually in the months of January and July.
* It’s Important to note: Exam venue limitations apply. Course payment with exam registration fees and venues fees if applicable to be paid in full at time of booking. Late penalty fee incurred for existing student who wish to register.
In addition to the three written exam papers above, you’ll also need to complete the DNI Unit Assignment, consisting of a report with recommendations, you’ll find the submission dates below.
The Assignment (DNI) report can be attempted four times a year annually in the months of February, May, August and November. You must register to submit your assignment to NEBOSH within the deadline.

Online learning or e-learning is an electronic means of study or study submission. For this NEBOSH National Diploma course, you will use a specially designed easy to use online platform, which allows you to study online, attempt practice questions and interact with your tutor and fellow students.
Students will upload the completed DNI Assignment directly to the nebosh website for marking. The three written exams are taken in-person, rather than online adhering to NEBOSH’s strict examination requirements.
