IATP, IIRSM & CPD Approved
This Asbestos Awareness video learning course explains why asbestos is considered the most dangerous building material ever used. Every year thousands of people become ill and die due to asbestos exposure, and it was widely used across the construction industry until the year 2000.
The course outlines the Control of Asbestos Regulations (CAR), which apply to employers, employees, self-employed persons, and duty holders. Regulation 10 of CAR requires that every employer provides training, information, and instruction for anyone who may be exposed to asbestos. This includes maintenance staff and others who may disturb asbestos-containing materials.
Learners will discover the health risks of working with asbestos, how to recognise asbestos-containing materials, and the locations where asbestos was commonly used. The training also explains the steps that can be taken to minimise risks and details the legislation governing asbestos work.
Each module ends with multiple-choice questions. Candidates must achieve 100% to pass, but they can review answers and will have up to three attempts per module. For broader workplace safety training, you may also be interested in our COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) course.
