Most people who begin eLearning with SHEilds have a clear goal in mind; to enhance their career prospects through professional Health, Safety and Environmental courses along with their associated knowledge.

A NEBOSH Qualification offers increased recognition from employers. Every year, more than 35,000 people working in an array of industries take these globally recognised qualifications and there’s a good reason why.

NEBOSH – The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health – is globally respected, with their qualifications being immediately recognised for integrity and effective application across industries.

By becoming NEBOSH qualified candidates create more chances for promotion, open new career paths and vastly improve their job security. Additionally, in practice the knowledge developed during these courses is of benefit to everyone, facilitating safer workplaces through informed assessment and application of management systems.

      Hello Shantanu,
Thank you for getting in touch. Working in a shipping line may make you eligible to undertake a NVQ Level 6. With this there are no exams and it may be a great option for you to consider. I have asked your course advisor to contact you in regards to getting you on the correct course.

      Hello Kwenya,

Without doubt, becoming NEBOSH qualified will improve your career options. There are lots of job positions which require NEBOSH certificate for the role and are often well paid. This is especially the case if you reach the higher Level 6 qualification, such as the NEBOSH Diploma. Based on average UK earning figures, you would expect to earn around £7,000 (that’s around 31,000+ QAR) more with a Diploma level qualification, than if qualified with a certificate level qualification alone.

Good luck with your career options and if you’d like to explore what SHEilds can do for your career, please contact us using our online form or start an online chat for more info.

So, I want to further improve myself so as to increase my chances of getting a good job. I’m planning on relocating to Dubai very soon so, I want to know the possibility. How can I get through with this? I’d like to have the international diploma which is level 6.

Hi Charles, one of our course advisors is currently in communication with you regarding your professional health and safety training options. The NVQ Level 6 is an excellent qualification, but it is designed for those already in employment and based on your day to day tasks within your role. However, the NEBOSH Certificate and Diploma level qualifications (also excellent) do not require you to already be employed, meaning you can study one of these courses listed on the following link (NEBOSH courses) to progress in the field of health and safety. Becoming NEBOSH qualified will certainly improve your career prospects and make you more desirable to employ.

    Hi,
Very good detailed information about NEBOSH.
Currently am working in UAE as document controller. I want to upgrade myself so I planned to join the NEBOSH for my future. Please advise as my qualification is Diploma in Electrical.

      SHEilds Health and Safety says:

      Hello Mohammed,

There is no specific ‘electrical’ focussed NEBOSH Diploma, but rather the NEBOSH International Diploma does cover aspects of electrical safety as well as others, such as Fire safety and evacuation, construction safety, vehicle safety, and a range of other topics.

The NEBOSH International Diploma is a University Degree level qualification and is sure to cover the requirements of electrical safety to more than satisfy any employers requirements.

If however, you are more interested in becoming an Electrical Engineer there are other appropriate qualifications, but as the holder of a NEBOSH Diploma level qualification you’re more likely to land the job position than another candidate that does not hold the NEBOSH Diploma.

To get a better idea of where you want go with your career, it’s best to use our online chat or contact form to discuss with our expert course advisors. They’ll provide the best advice on which qualifications are most suitable for your desired career progression.

      Good luck.

      Hi Mohamed,

Already having studied and achieved OSHA 30, and your existing qualification would work as a fantastic foundation for your professional health and safety studies at the higher level NEBOS Diploma. We may recommend the NEBOSH International General Certificate is the best course for you to study (as it sits directly between the OSHA 30 and the NEBOSH Diploma) – as it’s quite a jump when studying the NEBOSH Diploma course as this is a much more challenging qualification. Additionally, the Diploma will take you around 12 -18 months to complete, where as the Certificate takes 4-6 months (on average) to complete.

Hello sir, I’m highly delighted to have come across your amazing website. I’m a trained firefighter with 6 years of experience on the job. But i only have my fire cadet and basic first aid certificates. I’m looking to try other opportunities, preferably in oil and gas. So I think is about time I beef up my CV. My question now is, can I just opt for the international diploma, or would i have to do a NEBOSH certificate then build up all the way to level 6. Secondly, if I run an online NEBOSH diploma course from Nigeria, will I write the exams online and is my certificate going to be sent via post or online. And lastly is the exams cost included in the 1,450 registration fee.
    Thank you.

      Hello Ismail,
      Thank you for your question.

For a career in Oil and Gas we would recommend you start with the NEBOSH International Technical Certificate in Oil and Gas. This would be a great starting point. You can however bypass this and go straight for the International Diploma. We would always recommend you follow up with a diploma after a certificate as the certificate courses provide a solid foundation for the diploma. We have had some students in the past that have been overwhelmed by a diploma and later decide to follow the route of Certificate first.

It’s worth noting that the certificate course isn’t necessarily superseded by the diploma, it can infact give you an edge over other diploma holders by having a specialised qualification.

The exams aren’t included in the registration fee, the prices change regularly but you can an estimate of how much the exams cost here: https://www.sheilds.org/nebosh-exam-fees/
