Post of: Trainer/Assessor & Consultant

Salary: £20,000 - £27,000 depending on experience.

Office base: Grimsby – a car is essential for travel

Role: Safety Training & Consultancy Service require a professional Trainer/Assessor & Consultant to deliver a range of Health & Safety training courses in the UK and abroad and to provide clients with advice and support on a range of consultancy matters.

It is therefore essential that the post holder possesses the following:

  • Ideally GradIOSH or above with a teacher/trainer qualification
  • Assessor award is also desirable
  • A car is essential for travel

Post of: NVQ Assessor in Occupational Health and Safety

Ref: NVQA1

Reporting to: NVQ Manager

Salary: £15,000 - £20,000 depending on experience and qualifications

Office base: Grimsby

Full time permanent position

Role: The Portfolio Manager will prepare the candidates work based evidence ready for assessment by the NVQ assessor. Assessor will provide feedback to candidates either by email, telephone or face to face. The assessor will also deliver workshops to new candidate to support them in building the portfolio. The role is predominantly office based, however as our students are located throughout the UK, this will mean an element of travel, and at times, an overnight stay.

It is therefore essential that the post holder possesses the following:

  • A1 or D32/D33 Assessor award or be working towards it.
  • Sound knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety and have or be working towards NVQ level 4 in Occupational H&S (this may be provided by SHEilds)
  • Excellent administration skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Good IT skills and ability to use email
  • Ability to deliver training in relation to the NVQ to groups of candidates

From time to time the post holder will be asked to undertake other duties commensurate with their work.


Operations Manager – India (IOP1)
We require a skilled Manager who will oversee our operations in India from our head office based in Mumbai.

To apply you will have:

  • Experience with office and staff management
  • Have good communication skills at all levels, including at Director level
  • Have excellent organisational skills and at least 3 years in a similar role
  • Your I.T skills must be up to date and relevant
  • You must be able and willing to travel, both internally and internationally when required
  • You should be educated to Degree level in management.
  • You will have good business accruement and have the skills to discuss matters of contract and problem solving
  • You must be able to visit our Head Office in Hull, UK to undertake a month of introduction and induction.

The suitable applicant will be energetic and willing to take on a challenge. You will be often working alone but you will be supported by an administration Clerk and our Director of International Operations who is based in the UK.

NEBOSH Trainer – India (ITr1)
Required for mainly Southern India, although may be expected to work in other regions.
To apply you will need to

  • Be experienced in delivery of NEBOSH qualifications including the General, Fire & Risk Management and International General Certificates as well as the NEBOSH Diploma.
  • Be an experience tutor
  • Be a corporate member of IOSH or at least GradIOSH
  • Be experienced at dealing with mixed cultures and religions

Additional considerations

  • Able to write and deliver bespoke courses
  • Have the desire to assist in business development
  • Experienced consultant / advisor to a variety of industries
  • NVQ assessor abilities

Sales and Marketing manager – Nigeria (NSM1)
This post is a permanent position. Based either Port Harcourt or Lagos.

The key skills required are organisational and business accruement. Previous sales and marketing management experience is essential.

The post holder must have ambition and drive and be resourceful.

It is expected that the post holder will deal with the day to day enquiries, be involved in all areas of sales and marketing of our products and meet or exceed monthly targets.

It is also essential that the post holder posses the following:

  • Excellent communication skills in English (secondary languages desirable)
  • A wiliness to learn
  • Team working abilities
  • A good understanding of Microsoft office applications
  • Local knowledge of cultures

Business Manager (Business Leader) – Dubai (DBL1)
This post is a permanent position. Based in Knowledge Village, Dubai.
A dynamic and savvy leader is required to direct our business activities currently in place in our Dubai training centre as well as the ability to spot new opportunities. Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate the team. Ideally the successful candidate will have a good grounding in health and safety, knowledge of courses such as NEBOSH, however business acumen is key to this role.

eLearning Support Co-ordinator – Hull (ESC1)
This role is based in Hessle, working from home may be considered for the right candidate although they would need to attend the office at least weekly, after initial induction. Key qualities include: attention to detail, creativity, project management skills and strong IT skills.
Ideally the successful candidate will be CMIOSH by the NEBOSH diploma route or we may consider somebody currently on the NEBOSH diploma on their final unit

Course Writers – Freelance (CWF1)
We are currently seeking freelance course writers to develop new eLearning courses and contribute towards existing eLearning courses. Courses vary from basic awareness type courses, through to those which are more technical and can by used as professional development, predominately all courses are health and safety orientated however we do have plans to launce more food safety and teacher training type courses via eLearning.  A full breakdown of what is expected for each course/element will be issued upon request. We are also interested to hear from those who may have already developed distance learning programs, which we may be able to incorporate.
